Growth hormone (GH) plays a key role in promoting linear growth during childhood. After puberty,

GH remains important for maintaining optimal muscular and skeletal health. It is also well known that
deficiency in GH can cause increases in metabolic and cardiovascular risks. Therefore, it is important

to reassess the need for continuation of GH treatment after completion of linear growth in patients with

childhood-onset GH deficiency. In this lecture, the differences in assessment and management of GH

deficiency in childhood and adulthood will be discussed.
